Great mat!
YES!!!! Great quality and just what I was looking for at a great price! Soft and durable. Simple design. Comes with a little band to hold it together, so it’s very easy to store or bring with you! I’ve only used it on carpet so far, but I’ve had no problems of it moving or being unstable! Seems like a good amount of padding too.

Perfectly fine yoga mat, but open it outside
When I first got this, it smelled TERRIBLE in a delightfully migraine-inducing way. Being in the same room as it was torture, actually using it (read: putting my face anywhere near it) was unthinkable. It was a strong, plasticky/chemical smell. I unrolled it and hung it from my fire escape (clipped in place so it wouldn’t fly away) for about a week in winter weather, that airing was enough to get rid of the stench well enough to make it usable. I don’t remember it snowing or raining in that time, but either way it didn’t seem harmed by its time outside at all.Anyway, once it was less smelly it was a perfectly fine yoga mat. Easy to clean, carrying strap is convenient, etc. I found it pretty comfortable and didn’t have issues with it being slippery or anything.

Noxious when unpacked, but good quality!
Definitely needs to be aired out for at least 24h after first unpacking & unrolling, as the fresh chemical smell is STRONG – will need to leave in a well ventilated room or outside!It’s a good size, exactly as stated, which is perfect for my frame without feeling too big or small. It’s not super bulky, but it’s still thick enough to protect me from the hardwood floor I stretch on. Love the color! Carry strap is pretty cheap, it’s just a fabric strap with a slider – if it’s the difference between this item and a different one, honestly making your own strap could be better. But it feels nice and relaxing and I’m not worried about it rolling away! Love the mat, would get again if I needed a spare.

Great everyday yoga mat!
I am just getting into yoga and love this mat! I enjoyed the color options, the carry strap is great and it stays on- it doesn’t slide. The mat is supportive and has some grip. It is comfortable and has enough cushion!

I am glad that Gaiam makes a 72” mat! Well made and doesn’t move around during my practice. This mat was ready to use immediately, as there was almost no off-gassing of the material.

This GAIA Yoga mat has a great ‘grippy’ surface that does not become slippery. I started with a thicker foam mat and those thick ones are potentially a bit dangerous as they are slippery when doing Yoga moves. You could slip and hurt yourself with those cheaper thick foam ones.Gaia thin ones are one of the BEST you can get. You can use a cheaper one under it if you are outside on uneven ground. Always have the Gaia next to your skin.
